Field Trip Overview
Last year, after knowing that we can now enroll to the Field trip and Seminars subject, all of the third year students meet. Because we are expecting that all of us are sure in enrolling this subject, we then elect our FTS Officers. And here starts the FTS class.
Field Trip and Seminars are made to help students be more knowledgeable of the real field of work. Because for today, Davao City is still in the progress, there are only few companies that is related to the IT industry. Thus, we students were given options to what model that we want for this program. Then, the whole class decided to have the model A which requires major field trip outside Mindanao and a minor field trip inside Davao.
This is not about wasting money. FTS is all about learning while exploring the real world, especially to us IT students who need to be more exposed to the most advanced technology that is available today. We need to be updated to what technology is – in many aspects.
DAY 1
Before the flight
September 10, 2012 4:00 in the morning, my mother woke me up. I was so pissed with my mother at that time for waking me up very early than to my usual wake up time. But then she told me to take a bath and an early breakfast so that I won’t be late. That’s the time that I have finally figured out everything. That day was the day of our departure to Manila. I freaked out and rush to the bathroom. I was very happy that my mother helped me out with my things – from the clothes that I will be wearing for the day and fixing my hair. She even prepared my breakfast before waking me up, and that means she was a wake 30 minutes than me. I was touched with her effort.
After the said cramming moments, I did texted some of my classmates to check if they’re all awake and ready for our fieldtrip. I was surprised that there’s someone was there already in the airport. I checked the time and asked my mother to go together with me – because the real plan was I have to the airport alone for our house is not that far from the airport. Together with my mother, we waited for a taxi. I did texted Ruby Jean to check if she’s ready. But unfortunately, she just woke up at that time. I thought, if she’s ready, I will wait for her and ride a cab together to lessen the fair. But then, I can’t wait for her and my mother decided to ride a jeep instead of a taxi.
Few minutes passed, we reached the airport. I was so glad seeing my classmates there. We are all well groomed and wore formal attire. Some of them went to the salon the day before to fix their hair. They even colored they’re nails. But, I was more surprised seeing their BIG luggage. I was thinking.. “What did they brought?” a question that I asked to myself, too. I kept on thinking if I had brought enough or did I miss something to bring. Then I asked Jed Wil and Febie. They told me that they had brought more than 10 pairs of clothes. They even brought big amounts of liquids – like lotion, shampoo, hair conditioner, and many more. I laughed to myself thinking that.. “Am I not that prepared?”
Time had passed and most of my classmates arrived. When Louella came, we decided to enter and bid goodbyes to our parents and guardians. I kissed my mother in her cheeks and she said.. “Good luck and have a great time. Don’t forget to pray every night before you sleep and every morning as you wake up. Stick with your classmates and never leave the hotel if it’s not important.” I don’t know if she just can’t trust to me or she’s just so loving and caring to me. Well, this was the longest time that I will be staying far away from my mother’s side. As we enter, we did things for the first time in our lives using the airport’s C.R. for the first time, the first time that we paid for the terminal fee, the first time that we watched airplanes take off and land. And for a few moments, we will be taking our first time inside the airplane.
Inside the plane
As we wait for our other classmates, we took pictures of us, the environment, the planes, and even captured short videos. We enjoyed our selves there. And a few more moments, we’re called and entered the plane for the first time. I was so excited for I have imagined myself before as a pilot. I actually thought of entering the cockpit to see what it looks like in person. But well, only personnel can enter. So, I just enjoyed everything that I could see and touch in my seat. As the plane prepares for take-off, Febie (my seatmate) took a video. It really shows that she was excited and very much happy with she’s seeing – for she is sitting near the window. I enjoyed how it feels inside the plane but I never forgot to pray. I prayed hard at that very moment. I asked God to guide us and put us away from disasters. And when the plane is stable in the sky, I unfastened my seatbelt and draw nearer to Febie and witnessed the beauty of every island that we passed through. I thought that it will take long before I could ride a plane and enjoy that scenery that we have seen.
We did enjoy the scenery that we have seen, but that odd feeling that I have felt is quite disturbing. I have this motion sickness for a long time. I can’t bare long travels for this cause dizziness and might puke as well. But the good thing is I took my medicine before the flight. As the plane continues to soar, my ears are weird. I can’t explain the feeling but I could say that it is not good. It’s like the air inside the plane blocked my ears that I could barely hear the noise caused by the plane’s engine and the passengers as well. Then I remembered an episode of Detective Conan (a mystery themed anime) where they rode a plane and felt the same sensation. What they did is that they pinched their nose to block the air and blew hard so that air will pop out their ears and felt better. So I told Febie to do what they just did. After that moment, we felt better and Febie took her digital camera out of her bag and start taking pictures outside. We even took a video with our experience inside the airplane for the first time. [Here is the video of our first day in Manila-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DX-7WgBfoE]
Minutes later, I have noticed that my classmates in the back were very noisy. It seemed like they are laughing without thinking that they are inside a flying plane. I was concerned that they might destruct other passengers in the plane. And so, I looked at their side and try to figure out what they are doing. I asked Jeanie Joy about the commotion at the back. She said that Laian (the vice-president of the FTS class) was unwell. Just like me, she also has this motion sickness thing and so the people in her side (including our professor) tried to make her feel better by making her happy and forget the odd sensation that she felt at that very moment.
The first step in Manila
It was 9:09 in the morning when our plane landed in Ninoy Aquino International Airport. I can feel and tell that every one of us are all tired but excited as well. But before we could get our rest after the very long and tiring travel, we need to go first to DOST (Department of Science and Technology) as our first stop in our field trip. Because we don’t want to be late in the said trip, we took our breakfast inside the bus. The tour guides gave us chicken with rice and pancakes as our breakfast. It was delicious! Yumm~!
After a very informative session at DOST, the whole class are going to take lunch in Great Eastern Hotel in Makati. As a first timer in Makati, I was so amazed with those tall buildings that are packed all together in a single area. There is no other place in Davao that could give us this scenery of skyscrapers. We actually whined about our aching necks. We are all excited to step out of our bus and to take pictures of those tall buildings around us. And as we did, we took pictures in many angles in the perimeter. I could actually say that we took more pictures than the food during our lunch. Maybe because we took our breakfast late and are still full so we ate a little in our lunch. It was actually like – “sayang ang food kung gamai lang ang atong kaunon~! (The food will be a waste if we only eat a little.)”
After filling our tummies, we headed to Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in EDSA still in Makati to learn about their system. There, we actually did compare MMDA in Davao City’s Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC). We differentiate the two in their facilities, equipments, building, staffs and etc. There are a lot of funny things that had happened in MMDA that is why we enjoyed the said trip.
After the trip Makati, the whole class is excited for the next stop is the most awaited part – shopping in SM Mall of Asia. But after getting there, we have felt exhausted that we chose to take a rest at SM by the Bay than exploring the Mall. We took pictures [as usual] and enjoyed the view. I could see in our faces, especially Jed Wil that we wanted to take a nap. It was windy and the scene is tempting us to fell asleep.
7:00 in the evening – dinner time~! We don’t have to move that far for our dinner because we will be taking our dinner at Giligan’s. Because we are all tired and hungry, we enjoyed the foods that are served. My tummy was full already but there are still left over. It was not an eat-all-you-can dinner and so our professor asked the waitress to pack the left over so we can still eat it. “Ang sarap ng patatim! (The patatim is delicious.)” But we can’t finish it all.
After the dinner, we are heading to Kabayan Hotel in Pasay City. Our energy level reached 0% that made us so excited to see our rooms and take our first sleep in Metro Manila. When the keys had been distributed to our leaders, all of us rushed to our rooms. My roommates are Febie, Louella (the secretary of the class), Nikki, Fretzeil, and Rj (our college governor). As we enter the room, we took pictures again and one-by-one went to the bathroom to change our clothes and to wash as well. And after that, we rest ourselves. We are not able to eat the patatim from the restaurant because we are all tired and full.

DAY 2
Wake up call
4:00 in the morning when I woke up. The noise (chatting) made by my roommates awakened me. Our wake-up call was actually 5:00 in the morning but we thought of taking our preparations early because there are 6 of us the room sharing a single bathroom. All are awake except for one – Febie. We took our shower one-by-one but she’s still asleep. Her phone’s alarm is not effective nor RJ’s. So we decided to wake her up before I could have my shower.
We are all ready when the hotel staff came for our wake up call. We actually laughed about it – we are prepared earlier than the wake up call. After that, all of us went to the lobby to have our breakfast and then our professor came. He called our attention and asked us – “Asa man mo kagabii? (Where we’re you last night?)” That’s the only time that we have realized that our professor actually went to every room and checked if we’re all present. He’ll be checking us every night (11:00). Because we are all asleep before the checking time, we haven’t answered our professor who knocks many times to our room. We apologized and told our professor – “Sayu-a lagi mi ug adto sir kay mga good girls man mi. Sayu mi mangatulog. (Sir, you can do your checking earlier because we’re all good girls. We sleep early.)” Our professor laughed and told us that he will be checking us earlier than the curfew.
University of the Philippines
After taking our breakfast, we packed our bags and ready to go to the University of the Philippines (UP). UP is like the Harvard in the Philippines. Here is where the intellectual youngsters in our country studies. Well not all though. USEP has intellectual individuals, too. We will be at UP for the whole day because we joined Y4IT Seminar there. We are expecting this seminar to be very fun and we did have fun~!
We started the day with a picture taking with the Oblation Statue. We only have a very fast stop there or else we’ll be late for the seminar. The weather there was nice. It was not hot or too cold. The trees around the campus made the ambiance peaceful that made us feel the good effect of nature. With the use of our bus, we travel from the Oblation statue not too far to the UP theatre. As we draw nearer the theatre, there are more buses coming that made us walk faster to have a seat inside. Together, we formed our line and observe the environment and the other delegates. With the look of the other students, I felt a bit intimidated. I don’t know why but that’s what I felt at that time.
When we’re about to enter the theatre, a staff stopped us and told us to go to the other venue which is the Bahay ng Alimni because the UP Theater is full. From there, we took our way to the Bahay ng Alumni by feet. And luckily, there we were able to enter. Before the seminar starts, there are staffs giving bags as a token. We are all happy taking the bag for this will be a good souvenir from our Y4IT experience in UP. In the seminar, we are all fired up after hearing that our professor will be taking the welcome remarks as a start of the seminar. The emcee’s called our professor’s name in front and as they introduce him, I could actually say that they are amazed that we came from a far place – Davao City. I was thinking that they never expected that. We applaud very hard to create big noise as our professor taking the stage. Personally, I felt honored that our professor, from a far away land, was able to give an opening speech for a big seminar like Y4IT.
Friendly afternoon
After the morning session of our seminar, Jhun Rey (our class president), told us to go to our bus and have our lunch there. We took a very fast lunch because our professor planned to have our afternoon session inside the UP Theater instead of staying at Bahay ng Alumni. And so we did. After the lunch, we headed to UP Theater. Together with my friends and roommates, we decided to have our seats somewhere at the farthest part of the theater. It is more crowded in the Theatre than to Bahay ng Alumni. Well because the UP Theatre is bigger than the other one.
All of us were seated and we also felt relax inside the theatre. Eventhough we are surrounded with Tagalog students we still uses Cebuano dialect in speaking to each other. I guess that’s the very reason why other students stare when we talk. In that afternoon, there is this person who talked to us. He is a student of Colegio de Santo Cristo de Burgos and he asked in what school are we from. Then I answered we’re from USEP in Davao City. After hearing that, he was shocked. Me, Fretzeil and Rj saw that his eyes got bigger and almost drop his jaw. Meybe he was thinking that we traveled so far just to attend the said seminar. He kept on asking questions and then one of his classmates joined in. the conversation ended with a giving of facebook accounts and cellphone numbers. I wasn’t really expecting that we will be able to meet friends there. I thought we are the only people they talked to. Then I realized some of the Colegio de Santo Cristo de Burgos students were actually talking to our other classmates. Their conversation also ended with giving facebook accounts and cellphone numbers.
It was a fun afternoon after all. We are happy to meet new friends and at the same time learning many important stuffs about Information Technology. After the seminar, everyone was given certificates. And not only that, me and Fretzeil was able to have a picture with the event’s emcees. Why do you think we’re so happy to have a picture with the emcees? Well, one of the emcees is Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism 2012: Candice Ramos. Ahaha! We are so happy. Fretzeil told me that she was actually Rhian Ramos’ sister.
The biggest group in the restaurant
After traveling from UP in Diliman, we are now heading to Timog – still in Wuezon City to have our dinner at Tramway Restaurant. It was not that far but because of heavy traffic it took us time. During the trip, I felt a bit odd within. I wanted to puke. My head aches and my vision was like twirling. And so as we stepped out of the bus, I rushed to the restaurant’s comfort room and vomited.
After that bad experience in the comfort room, I felt better and I drank a glass of hot water. When I got better, I lined up with my other classmates and pick the foods that I want to eat. Then, I saw this man in front of me trying to analyze the crowd. Then he looked at me and asked me – “Bakit ang daming IT studentd ngayon dito? (Why is there are many IT students here?)” I was shocked that he noticed that we’re IT students and I answered him that we came from a seminar in UP. And after wards, we continue our conversation while picking foods. As we ended our short conversation, I noticed that our class filled the restaurant. We have a bigger number than the regular chinese customers there.
I’ve been an anime fan since childhood and when I saw that there are maki rolls in the buffet, no more second thought but tried it. But I only take a few because I was not feeling well. When I tasted it I could actually say that it was not that bad at all. After a very delicious dinner, we are now heading to our pitstop of the day – Kabayan Hotel.
DAY 3
What a laptop
Every morning seems to be the same. We woke up 4:00 in the morning like the other days. Because it was very early before the wake up call, we still have time for chit-chat. Same with the second day, our breakfast was served at the hotel. After the breakfast, we took a ride from Pasay City to Mandaluyong City. And our first stop for the day is Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT).
As we arrived, we didn’t enter the facility (which they called PLDT InnoLab) immediately. We stayed a bit inside the bus and have a rest for a moment. Actually, I just took a nap. Maybe because I feel a bit off that is why I decided to close my eyes and gave it a rest. After a moment, our tour guides told us to form a line as we enter the establishment. We signed the class lists as our attendance. As we enter, we made another four lines inside: two for the big bus and another two for the small bus. By the way, the whole class was divided into two groups. All last names that start from A-K will be taking the big bus and the remaining will be taking the small bus. As we observe from the inside, all people working there are all looked so busy. We have also observed that there are a lot of young individuals entering the PLDT InnoLab with envelopes. We then actually conclude that they are all applicants. It seems that they were there for an interview. And so I wondered – “Will I be able to work in a big company like PLDT?”
We have been waiting in the same area but not for too long. When everything is set and ready, a representative from the HR department came and called us. Then she guided us to the training area (I’m not so sure what they called that area but it seemed like a training area). One-by-one, the representative called our names and gave us our name tags. There were actually confusions with the names because some of us shared the same name and she only called us by our first names – like me. None the less, all of us got our name tags and started our technical visit with an introduction about the company. They also showed us the history of the company with the exhibits along the corridors of the building.
We have learned a lot about the company during the introduction. But after a moment, another representative came and guided us to the second floor of the building going to Acer. The Acer people showed us some of their products like laptops, desktop computers, and their projectors. Then they showed us their new laptop which I called the “Super Laptop”. Super because it was pretty strong and can’t be broken easily. We enjoyed watching our professors one-by-one stepped on top of it. And the best part is when they jumped on top of it. Amazing, isn’t it? The whole area was filled with joy, laughter and applause from every one of us. The most exciting part of that is when they tried to turns it on. And it did!
We got more information about the services that PLDT offers after visiting Acer. And then after that we’ll be going to SSS for the second part of the trip for day 3.

Question and Answer
After a two hour tour at PLDT, we made our way to Social Security System (SSS) in East Ave., Quezon City. On our way, we took our lunch inside the bus. It’s like the first day when we took our breakfast inside the bus. It was a long trip going to SSS coming from PLDT. I was weakening by the long distance travel. But when the talk starts, I was like pumped up. They told us how important SSS to every individuals especially for those who were working. They also showed us a little about their computer operations like the IT management group and about the virtual office (which is not yet done). It was a very informative talk. But what made our afternoon more energetic is the Q&A portion of the talk. After answering the questions from the students, our professor manages to ask question pertaining the people who were working for an outsourcing jobs from different countries – just like some of my classmates are. The question really struck the speakers and the students as well. Ahaha… it was a very fun talk. Most of my classmates who answered their questions received a reward from them.
Shopping
The day is not yet done after the SSS visit because after that, we enjoyed ourselves at Tutuban. We were all given an allowance of 200Php for dinner. As we’re off the bus, we immediately searched for a place to eat that is “pasok sa budget” because we are all starving and it was late in the evening. Then after dinner, we made a look at every stall that we’ll be passing to buy souvenirs and “pasalubong” for our family and friends that was left in Davao City. At that very moment, we are not conscious with the time. We are only given an hour and a half for shopping. And because of that, we exceeded and were scolded by our professor for making our other classmates wait inside the bus. We deserved it after all.
DAY 4
Morning excitement
The sun shines and so is our excitement rises. Why did we feel such? Well, its day 4. There are so many things that we’re looking forward to. And what are these? First is we are going to Tagaytay. And what comes after is the ride-all-you-can at Enchanted Kingdom. But for this day, the two groups will be having two different routes and schedule. The big bus group will going to Tagaytay first and in the afternoon is a company visit in Laguna then finally to Enchanted Kingdom. Then the small bus group will be going first to their company visit then going to Tagaytay and after is to Enchanted Kingdom. Which means the two groups will meet at Enchanted Kingdom. As for me, I am part of the big bus group. I am excited to go to Tagaytay in the morning.
Happy and sad
There were a lot of things had happened at Tagaytay. We had fun but there was also bad thing that had happened there. Before going to the “Palace in the Sky”, our tour guide suggested to have a short stop to a store and maybe buy some “pasalubong” there. My classmates bought foods like buko pie and many more. We have also bought bracelets and coin purses as a souvenir from a not so far souvenir stall. After that, we took another stop and experience riding a horse for the first time of my life (I don’t know with my classmates if it was their first time too). We are so happy seeing the view of the very beautiful Taal volcano. We took pictures from a cliff. Though it was a bit dangerous, we still enjoyed ourselves. From our position, it seems like we can actually reach the clouds (actually it was a foggy morning there and the clouds touches the hill). We can see Batangas from where we’re standing. As we were having fun while eating popsicles with RJ and Louella, we noticed that Jhun Rey looked so anxious about something. And our professor actually asked our male classmates to help him out. I don’t know what had happened. And then we have found out that Jhun Rey’s phone was lost somewhere. Together with our classmates, we walked and searched every place where Jhun Rey has been to. But we never found the lost item. Jhun Rey said that it might have fell somewhere when he rode the horse and so we continued searching and even called the phone many times. And still, we failed.
After that event, Jhun Rey slowly tried to smile as we reached the “Palace in the Sky”. Our tour guide told us some information about the said “Palace in the Sky”. He told us that a mansion was about to build there during the Marcos regime. But unfortunately it was not completed because not too long the Marcos regime is slowly falling apart. And so, the unfinished mansion became a tourist destination in Tagaytay for its majestic view and many other things that made it so beautiful. I could not even explain the beauty that I have just witnessed there.
Some of my classmates continued buying items from Tagaytay like shirts with Tagaytay prints on it, bracelets, caps and many more. But at 11:30 am, we must now prepare ourselves for our company visit at Laguna. On our way to the next stop, we have taken our lunch again inside the bus. Same as usual, isn’t it? Well I guess I’m getting used to it – eating inside the bus while having a long distance travel and to think that I have motion sickness. Well, I was left with no other choice.
Let’s remain silent

Let’s remain silent
It was a rainy day in Laguna when we reached Tsukiden for our company visit for the day. Tsukiden is an electronics company that was named before as Laguna Electronics Company. They assemble boards that are used for many electrical devices such as projectors. Before we enter the building, our tour guide warned us about the company’s strict rules. We should not make loud noises as we enter and never break the line. As we enter, we are asked to take off our shoes and wear the sleepers that were handed to us by the security personnel. It is very common in animes to wear sleepers in schools and other establishments. And since it is a Japanese company, I am expecting this to happen. Just like what our tour guide told us, we remained silent you can’t hear anything except for the footsteps. We have noticed that the employees wear neat uniforms with their gloves, boots, masks, and hairnets on. By that, we could actually say that the management is implementing the company’s rules in a strict manner.
We are all seated when the speakers introduces their company’s background. But it was so unfortunate that we are not allowed to see where the real action is – the inside of the company. They can’t show us how they assemble boards. We are really looking forward to it. But we can do nothing. It is what the management said.
Got pumped up
We are all sleepy as we left Tsukiden because we have been travelling from place to place and we’re not able to get enough rest. But we were fired up as we reached Enchanted Kingdom. In a distance, you can actually see the Ferris wheel which they called “Wheel of Fate” and the track of the roller coaster which they called “Space Shuttle”.
As our bus parked, we have noticed that the parking area was filled by many different buses from schools. We were so worried that we might not enjoy the package just like what happened to the first batch. We are so worried about the lines, the crowd, and the rides that we wanted to experience for the first time in our lives. We felt much of the excitement when a staff stepped in to our bus and oriented us about the place. We were actually called high-schoolers by the staff. Then after that, our tour guide gave us our tickets individually. Now we are so pumped up as we have entered the gate because we all know that will be having good memories there. Together with Louella and Sherry, we looked for a ride to start in our Enchanted Kingdom experience. First stop is the “Roller Skaters”. After that, we waited for the other bus (the small bus) since we got there first. And when they did, together with our friends from the other bus, we enjoyed every ride that we took.
Just like what I have said, I felt off before we arrived at Enchanted Kingdom and it got worse after taking “Anchors Away”. So, I took a break for a moment somewhere in the park and waited for my friends who enjoyed themselves with the “Space Shuttle”.
After the Enchanted Kingdom moments, though it was late in the evening, we headed to SM Mall of Asia and took our late dinner at Taste Asia. We are all exhausted and looking forward to have a rest back at the hotel.
DAY 5Last moments at room 211
Just like the other days, we woke up very early and took our breakfast. But what’s different from this day to any other morning here in Manila is that we will be checking out of the hotel and this means that we will be going home soon. Maybe, this will the last moment here at Kabayan Hotel. Thursday night, everyone was so busy packing their luggage. I even talked to the bed saying – “this will be my last sleep in this bed.” And everyone laughed. But then after a while everyone was like telling their feelings about our last night in Manila. We didn’t cried but we felt sad a bit. But we are more excited seeing our own beds again back in Davao. We took our last photographs at the lobby in the hotel with our friends and our tour guides. Actually, our professors joined in. we made a big ruckus in the hotel that other people glares at us. But well, we didn’t care anymore. We just have fun for our last step at the hotel. Actually, I counted my last steps from 211’s comfort room, then out to the door of our room, and finally the last steps before going out of the hotel. But I have forgotten the numbers.
Dream Company
Before going to the airport, for this day, we still have our last company visit at JP Morgan Chase in Taguig City. I personally haven’t heard of this company in my entire life – there is no JP Morgan Chase in Davao so that explains why. I have no idea of what their company is all about: what do they do? But I was looking forward that we will be having fun for our last company visit in Manila. It’s like – “save the best for last”.
We took a long travel from the hotel, which is in Pasay City, going to Taguig. And to stop boredom from conquering everyone, our tour guide gave us the chance to sing with the karaoke that the bus has. There are no exceptions. Everyone should sing and enjoy it. Then after a more than two hour (I guess) ride, we reached Bonifacio Global. I was very impressed with what Bonifacio Global looked like. The aura seems to be like you’re out of the country. There were tall buildings all around you. Roads that are so wide and the clean surroundings really struck me as well. The weather also added the international feeling because it was cool in Taguig. And as we stepped off the bus, we appreciated the place more. It is very organized and you can’t see houses but buildings. I hope soon, there will be a place like Bonifacio Global in Davao City – I mean better than Bonifacio Global. And I know it is possible for Davao City is called the “Asia’s City to watch in the Future” according to prixbanzon.wordpress.com [http://prixbanzon.wordpress.com/2008/01/11/davao-city-asias-city-to-watch-in-the-future/].
And now, as we enter JP Morgan Chase, we acted like “probincianos” inside the building and formed a line to log in. It was our first time visiting a company that offers free coffee. And so we tried it like we never drank a coffee before. The place was good, the employees were great and the coffee tastes good as well.

And so we tried it like we never drank a coffee before. The place was good, the employees were great and the coffee tastes good as well.
In the lobby, it feels like you’re in an airport (there was actually a plane that is made of wood inside). With the building’s high ceiling, it adds modern flavor in the lobby. Even though we’re only sitting there, our eyes were like exploring every part of the building. It was fun. With what we have seen at the lobby, we are very much excited to see the comfort rooms of the said establishment. We love trying the comfort rooms where ever we go – especially to those “sosy” places. And yeah, our expectations about the comfort rooms were reached. Unfortunately we have no pictures inside the comfort rooms because all of the cameras and any other devices were left inside the bus. We are not allowed to take pictures inside the building.
We are all gathered and was called one-by-one as they gave our name tags. Then a woman came and introduced herself. We called her Miss Coco. As you listen to her as she speaks, I can tell that she is very intellectual and has a high position in the company. Then she asked Miss Love to guide us, the first batch, to the seventh floor. As we reached the 7th floor, Miss Love took us to the cafeteria where anyone (outside of the company) can put up their store there for free but they must give affordable prices for the employees of JP Morgan Chase in exchange. It was a good idea. And I was impressed with that. Then we went up to the 15 floor and saw their facilities. It was a great tour inside the building. Then the talk starts when we went back to the seventh floor. There I have learned many things about JP Morgan Chase. But sadly, they have no idea if it is possible to have a JP Morgan Chase branch in Davao City. I was dreaming of working there someday. And I hope I could.

Last shopping moments
After the company visit in JP Morgan Chase, the class was heading towards Baclaran. We have taken our lunch inside the bus again – just like the old times. Then we take a very fast shopping at Baclaran for we have a flight to catch. Then we entered the Baclaran church or the Redemptorist church to pray for our trip back home. I have prayed for my safety and to my classmates and professors too. I hoped that everything goes well especially there was a typhoon that will struck the Visayas region at that time. It was our moment to ask for a safe trip. Good thing that the team decided to go stop in Baclaran.
We’re back, Mom
6:15 is our flight but we were at the airport earlier. I can see from every faces that they’re all excited going home. Well, this was the first time that I have been away from my parent for a long period of time so you can’t blame me for missing them so much. The plane flew. The plane is way better than the plane that we have taken as we go to Manila but still I was worried a bit for the plain experienced turbulence for many times. There was a typhoon so what I did is I prayed again for a safe trip. And then, after an hour, we have reached Davao City International Airport at long last. Because of excitement, I feel like kissing the ground (but I didn’t). Then we took our luggage and went straight outside. As I stepped outside of the airport, though my mom was small I did saw her quickly may be because I just missed her so much. And I was so excited to tell to my mother everything that had happened in Manila. And she, as well, is looking forward for a very long story from me and my experience in Field Trip and Seminars.

Recommendations
The class Field Trip and Seminars batch 2012-2013 experienced a lot. We had fun going from one company to another. I also enjoyed the whole trip because of the very energetic tour guides that help us out.
There are many conflicts before the said field trip. Number 1 is how the information is being spread to every one of us. The officers used the new media as to give information like facebook. But, not all of us have the access to the internet – including me. Unlike before, I seldom check my facebook account for I still need to go to internet cafes – we have no internet connection at home. Most of the time, they posted updates about FTS late in the evening (sometimes 1 in the morning). It is better to use both text messaging and social networking sites in spreading information. When there are updates, the students must receive a text message or something at that very moment.
As for the agency, I would still recommend Maynilad for they have treated us very nice. They value us not only as clients but as friends too. We had fun having them. They made sure that we are well and warned us to some things that might be harmful to us. They also made sure that we’ll learn a lot not only in the company visits but as well as the road tour.
As a whole, I guess everything went well. I know that this trip was not perfect but everything is was good. And I hope that the flaws that had happened during this trip will not happen to the next batch of students.
